Yuriy Shevchuk, a 25-year-old senior soldier of the Special Operations Forces, was killed on August 17, 2025, while carrying out a combat mission in Sumy region. This information is confirmed by 'Glavkom' citing the Rivne City Council.
Yura was genuine, sincere, he loved life, adventures, and challenges. He hurried to live, to see the world, and explore it. Yura could not imagine life without movement, without sports; he had been practicing martial arts since his teenage years. He adored traveling. He was a real man, son, friend, beloved, and comrade. Everyone around him sincerely loved him.
Yuriy Shevchuk was born on June 4, 2000, in Rivne, studied at school No. 27, and earned a master's degree at the National University of Water Management and Nature Use. After that, he worked at the company 'Renome'. In July 2023, he voluntarily signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine and faithfully served, defending his country.
The farewell to the defender took place on August 22, 2025, at Independence Square in Rivne, where funeral services were held at the Alley of Heroes in the 'Nove' cemetery.
'Glavkom' joins the moment of silence, honoring the memory of all who died in the struggle for their homeland. During this event, candles are lit in memory, and heads are bowed in mourning, honoring the citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state.
