Energy consumption in Ukraine has increased by 20%: the reason has been named

According to inkorr.com: Energy consumption in Ukraine has increased by 20% due to the delay in the start of the heating season. Vitaliy Zaychenko, head of the board of 'Ukrenergo', noted that the reason for this is the lack of heating supply, as people have started to use electrical appliances more actively to heat their homes.

The main issue is the lack of heating supply. Many consumers are currently heating using electricity – that includes air conditioners and heaters.

Representatives of 'Ukrenergo' hope that the launch of heating supply in the coming ten days will help reduce the load on the energy system. As many household consumers have become the main electricity users in recent years, their behavior can significantly impact the stability of the network.

The situation in other countries

In Kyiv, the heating season has not yet started due to warm weather and the need to conserve gas. In Italy, under the conditions of an energy crisis, control over heating usage has been intensified: residents face fines of up to 3000 euros if the temperature in their homes exceeds 19°C during the heating season.

Thus, the increase in electricity consumption in Ukraine is caused by the delay in starting the heating season. People are forced to use electric appliances to provide warmth in their homes due to the lack of heating supply. If heating supply is launched soon, it will help reduce the load on the energy system, which is crucial for the stability of the country's energy sector.
