Streamlined Child Support in Ukraine: How to Apply via Service Centers and the 'Diia.Card'.
Simplified Process for State Child Benefits
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine has introduced a simplified and digitized system for parents and guardians to apply for state child benefits. Applications for childcare assistance can now be submitted through Administrative Service Centers (ASCs) and authorized community representatives. This new process is designed to make it easier for families with children to access crucial financial support, a vital measure given the country's ongoing economic pressures.
Payment Amounts and Application Deadlines
Payments related to pregnancy, childbirth, and caring for a child up to one year old can be received on special 'Diia.Card' accounts. The application deadline for parents raising a child under one year is three months after the child's first birthday. Under the 'eNursery' (єЯсла) program, this deadline has been extended to six months, further increasing access to the aid.
In 2026, the pregnancy and childbirth benefit will be 7,000 hryvnias. The childcare benefit for a child under one year will also remain at 7,000 hryvnias. For children with disabilities, a monthly benefit of 10,500 hryvnias is provided. Parents who return to work after their child's first year will receive 8,000 hryvnias, and for children with disabilities, this amount is 12,000 hryvnias. These adjustments aim to bolster family support and ensure financial stability during a critical life period.
'The introduction of a simplified state aid procedure and the digitization of the payment process can significantly ease the lives of many families in Ukraine, especially amid contemporary economic challenges.'
These changes may help stimulate birth rates, as improved financial support for parents and guardians makes raising children more affordable. Consequently, this could positively impact the country's demographic situation and help secure a better future for younger generations.
