The USA will provide Ukraine with 15 billion dollars from frozen Russian assets: where the money will go.
Ukraine received 15 billion dollars from the World Bank secured by Russian assets
The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine signed an agreement with the World Bank for the provision of 15 billion dollars. These funds will be guaranteed by future income from frozen Russian assets. This was reported by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.
According to the plan, the received funds will be directed to social and humanitarian expenditures as part of the PEACE in Ukraine project. This is part of the total contribution of the USA amounting to 20 billion dollars under the G7 initiative.
Previously, the USA had already provided Ukraine with the first billion dollars, which was also secured by income from Russian assets. In addition, Japan plans to transfer frozen Russian assets amounting to 3 billion dollars.
President Biden announced an additional package of military aid for Ukraine amounting to 2.5 billion dollars.
