The USA announced details of security assistance to Ukraine worth $2.4 billion.
The US Department of Defense announced a new security assistance package for Ukraine worth $2.4 billion.
According to the information, this package is intended to provide Ukraine with the necessary tools to counter Russian aggression. It includes support through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) and aims to strengthen air defense, unmanned systems, and aviation munitions.
The package includes:
- Ammunition and support for Ukrainian air defense systems
- Air-to-ground aviation munitions
- Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and components for their production in Ukraine
- Equipment to combat UAVs
- Unmanned surface vessels
- Secure communication equipment
- Materials to support the production of ammunition
- Spare parts and other auxiliary equipment
This is already the 21st USAI assistance package from the Biden administration. The USA will continue to cooperate with over 50 allies and partners through the Ukraine Defense Contact Group to provide the necessary support.
Earlier, US President Joe Biden announced the transfer of long-range cruise aviation bombs JSOW to Ukraine. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude for the significant defense assistance and emphasized the importance of allocating the remaining security assistance by the end of the financial year in the USA.
