Biden delivered long-range cruise bombs to Ukraine
On September 26, 2024, US President Joe Biden announced the transfer of long-range cruise bombs JSOW to Ukraine.
"To enhance Ukraine's capabilities for long-range strikes, I decided to provide Ukraine with Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW) long-range missiles," the White House reported.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude to the American leader, the US Congress, and the American people for providing significant defense aid worth $7.9 billion and implementing new sanctions against Russia.
Zelensky emphasized the importance of allocating the remainder of the security assistance to Ukraine by the end of the fiscal year in the United States. He assured that the aid would be used effectively to achieve the common goal of Ukraine's victory and the establishment of a just peace.
The President of Ukraine also thanked for the provision of an additional Patriot air defense battery, other air defense means, drones, long-range missiles, and air-to-ground munitions. He separately noted the importance of expanding programs for training Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16s.
Zelensky stressed the strength of the Ukrainian-American alliance and the commitment of both countries to the protection of freedom, human life, and common security in Europe and beyond.
