World Reading Rankings: USA and India Lead, but There are Surprises.
According to inkorr.com: A recent study by the World Population Review showed that the world can be roughly divided into 'bookworms' and those who are not avid readers. The leaders in the number of books read are the USA and India.
Reading Leaders
The countries with the highest reading rates also include the United Kingdom, France, and Italy. The ranking demonstrates how much time each country spends reading. For example, the average American dedicates 357 hours a year to reading, while Ukrainians and Hungarians occupy average positions in the list.
The most read books in history are religious texts - the Bible and the Quran.

Growing Interest in New Genres
The study also revealed a growing popularity of 'corset novels'. Over the past five years, 42% of women from Generation Z and Millennials have purchased more books of this genre. Notably, Ilya Otroshenko became the youngest author of a trilogy in Ukraine at the age of 12.
According to the data presented in the study by the World Population Review, the USA and India took leading positions in the number of books read per year. There is also a noted increase in interest in 'corset novels' among the youth, indicating interesting changes in the world of reading.
