About 70-75 thousand male police officers of mobilization age work in the National Police of Ukraine, of which more than 15 thousand are performing combat tasks. This was reported by the Deputy Head of the National Police, Oleksandr Fatsevych.

“We have about 70-75 thousand male police officers in the National Police, who can fall under mobilization by age category, of which more than 15 thousand are already performing combat tasks. And all our police officers are certified, wearing epaulettes and reserved. But they also perform combat tasks,” he said.

Fatsevych stated that the National Police has created new regular units that help in repelling Russian aggression: more than 15 thousand police officers are performing combat tasks, particularly in the north to cover the national border.

“We are now performing tasks on one of the most challenging fronts – this is the „Lyuty“ brigade, along with the „Predator“ brigade and the newly established rifle unit of our KORD. They are performing tasks on the Toretsk direction,” noted the Deputy Head of the National Police.

Rifle battalions have also been created in each regional department of the National Police. Fatsevych noted that some of them have already completed training.

“Some of them were sent to the areas of combat task execution. And some are completing, accordingly, coordination,” emphasized Fatsevych.

Earlier, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko, stated that law enforcement officers would be ready to take up arms and mobilize if the situation on the front requires it.
