It became known that the Russians did with the children's camp 'Artek' in Crimea.
Children in Crimea, who are at the recreation center 'Artek', seized by Russia, are forced to produce aid for the Russian army. They spend at least six hours a week on this. In recent days, the 'Artek' campers collected 223 kilograms of olives, which were sent to the military. This is just one of the actions carried out by local collaborators for the sake of 'volunteering.'
The National Resistance Center reported that involving the population of Crimea to support Putin's army is widespread. The aim is to disseminate disinformation regarding Russia's invasion of Ukraine and to foster loyalty among the youth to the occupiers. Those responsible for such propaganda will be punished.
Change of the hotel name 'Ukraine'
In August 2023, the Russians renamed the Simferopol hotel 'Ukraine' to 'Simferopol Grand Hotel'. Hotel representatives stated that this is a rebranding and is not connected with the political situation. The temporary head of the Public Chamber of Crimea, Alexander Formanchuk, said that there has been no work on renaming Soviet objects in the region, but the name change is related to the business interests of the hotel owner.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that Ukraine cannot recognize the occupied territories as Russian and expressed readiness to return Crimea through diplomatic means. The Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people established that for official negotiations to end the Russo-Ukrainian war, the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity within its recognized borders is necessary. It was also noted that only 0.8% of children in Crimea had the opportunity to study the Ukrainian language in schools during the 2023-2024 academic year.
