The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer expressed his opinion following the meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Alaska. According to him, the actions of the American president will help end the war in Ukraine.

'We are nearing the end of Russia’s illegal war in Ukraine thanks to President Trump's efforts'
The Prime Minister highlighted Trump's leadership in the desire to end the violence and expressed gratitude for it.
According to Starmer, the next step should be negotiations involving President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, as the path to peace in Ukraine cannot be paved without the president's participation.
The Prime Minister also noted that security guarantees for Ukraine from the U.S. and Europe are important to deter Russian aggression.
He urged countries to continue 'tightening the screws' on Putin's war machine through increasingly severe sanctions until he stops the war.
It is to be reminded that the leaders of European countries expressed support for Ukraine in the fight against the war and welcomed Trump’s actions.
In response to the joint statement of European leaders, Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude for the support.
