How Ukrainians Abroad Can Cancel Military Fines and Stop Being Wanted.
Repealing Fines for Ukrainian Citizens Living Abroad
According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian citizens residing outside the country who have received a fine from a Territorial Recruitment Center (TRC) can have it canceled. Lawyer Yuriy Aivazian has outlined the procedure for canceling such fines and stopping any associated search orders, highlighting key points to consider.
Specifically, a citizen can be declared wanted for failing to update their military registration data. If an individual was declared wanted in May 2025, it is important to know that this search order will automatically expire in May 2026.
“The search order should automatically expire in May 2026. After that, you can no longer be fined for not updating your data,” stated Yuriy Aivazian.
The Procedure for Removing a Search Order
For those who wish to have the search order removed before its expiration, it is necessary to submit a corresponding application to the TRC.
“You can have the search order removed by sending a formal application to the TRC,” the lawyer emphasized.
Consequently, citizens can utilize the procedure to cancel fines even while abroad by following the specified steps. This guidance is crucial for the many Ukrainians displaced by the ongoing war who face legal uncertainties regarding military service obligations. Understanding these deadlines and procedures can help individuals avoid further legal complications and secure necessary legal support.
Timely updating of military registration data can significantly reduce the risk of fines and search orders from the TRC.
