Fines for Conscripts with Deferments: Penalty Amount Set to Rise to 40,000 UAH.
Penalties for Violating Military Registration Rules
According to Novyny.live: Individuals who breach military registration regulations may face financial penalties, including those who have been granted a deferment from mobilization. Fines are applied regardless of a person’s status, and failing to pay them results in increasing debt. Under current law, the fine for conscripts stands at 8,500 hryvnias.
If the fine remains unpaid, the amount can escalate to 17,000 hryvnias and eventually reach 40,000 hryvnias. Additionally, officials who violate military registration rules may be fined up to 60,000 hryvnias. The maximum administrative penalty for officials ranges from 34,000 to 59,500 hryvnias. It is important to note that territorial recruitment centers are responsible for enforcing and collecting these fines for military registration violations.
Accountability for Conscripts
Yuriy Ayvazyan, an expert in military registration, stated: 'The fact that you have registered, obtained a deferment, and plan to undergo a military medical commission does not exempt you from liability for failing to fulfill your obligation to independently complete the commission by June 5, 2025.'
He further added: 'Yes, you must pay the 8,500 hryvnias; otherwise, you will later have to pay 17,000 hryvnias.' Consequently, individuals with deferments must remain vigilant about their military registration duties, as violations can lead to substantial financial penalties.
This news underscores the critical importance of complying with military registration rules, especially amid the country's challenging military situation. Even those who have secured a deferment must recognize their responsibilities and the potential financial repercussions of non-compliance. Given the possibility of steep fine increases, a call for careful attention is highly relevant to avoid unexpected costs.
