Trial of Ryan Routh in Florida

According to inkorr.com: The court process against Ryan Routh, who is accused of attempting to kill U.S. President Donald Trump in September of last year, has started in Florida. The 59-year-old defendant has decided to represent himself, according to Glavkom citing the BBC.

Routh has been charged with attempted murder of one of the leading presidential candidates, assaulting a federal officer, and two felonies related to firearms. He has pleaded not guilty to any of these charges.

Specifically, Routh filed a request with the court to summon Trump to a duel or a round of golf. He also requested to call the U.S. president as a witness, referring to him in court documents as an "insecure idiot – a crazy fool".

It should be noted that in September 2024, a shooting occurred near the golf club where Trump was playing. Ryan Wesley Routh was identified as a suspect in the assassination attempt on the president. He was armed with an assault rifle and was near the golf club during Trump’s game.

Later, Ryan Routh, suspected of attempting to kill Donald Trump on the golf course in Florida, left a note stating that he intended to kill the former U.S. president.

The trial of Ryan Routh has drawn public attention, as the defendant denies his guilt and even initiates unusual requests to the court regarding the president. This case opens a broader discussion about the security of politicians and the role of society in preventing violence.
