Russia Tops Sweden’s Threat List: Hundreds of Incidents Recorded, Security Service Reports.
Russia as a Rising Danger
According to UATV: Sweden’s Security Service has identified Russia as the primary external threat to the nation, warning that risks from Moscow are expected to increase. In its recently published annual security report, the agency notes that hundreds of suspicious incidents were logged during 2025, even though Sweden has not experienced any major attacks or classic acts of sabotage.
Still, the report highlights cyberattack attempts bearing Russian fingerprints. Fredrik Hallström, a spokesperson for the Swedish Security Service, commented on the situation:
'We know that Russia has instructed agents to map and document protected sites in Sweden. In short, we haven't seen any specific physical sabotage against critical infrastructure. However, we have observed attempts at destructive cyberattacks.' – Fredrik Hallström
Terror Threat Assessment
Sweden’s terror threat level stands at 3 out of 5, indicating a moderate risk. In light of these findings, the Swedish Security Service continues to strengthen security measures to protect the country from potential threats originating from Russia.
