Ombudsman investigates violations at TCC: what to do in case of illegal mobilization.
The Ombudsman Office promptly intervenes in situations when complaints arise regarding human rights violations during mobilization by representatives of TCC and SP. All cases are thoroughly checked.
Are TCC allowed to use force?
The authorized representative of the Verkhovna Rada for human rights, Dmytro Lubinets, stated on Tuesday, August 5, that TCC employees violate the law by unlawfully using force.
'It concerns unlawful detention, restriction of freedom, and the use of physical force and other illegal actions,' Lubinets emphasized.
He stressed that even during martial law, TCC and SP employees must act legally, not restricting citizens' freedoms without grounds or using force. Coercive delivery or detention is only possible by decision of the appropriate authorities. But citizens must also abide by the laws.
'As the Ombudsman, I use my powers by sending official requests to competent authorities. If violations are confirmed, I insist on bringing those responsible to justice,' he explained.
Recently it became known that a pensioner was beaten at the TCC. And in Rivne, a railway worker, who was mobilized despite his reservation, filed a lawsuit against the TCC.
The Verkhovna Rada authorized Dmytro Lubinets emphasized the unacceptability of illegal actions by TCC and SP employees during mobilization, reminding about the requirement to act exclusively within the law even during martial law. A thorough examination of each case and taking action in case of violations is an important aspect of protecting human rights in such situations.
