Heat Restored to Most Kyiv Homes, But Repairs Continue in Some Areas.
Heating Systems Largely Restored in Kyiv
According to TSN.ua: Following mass shelling in Kyiv's Desnianskyi district, heating has been almost fully restored. However, repair work is ongoing in several buildings due to severe damage. This update was provided on February 10 by Petro Panteleev, Deputy Head of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA).
Status as of February 8
As of the morning of February 8, over 1,100 buildings in the Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts were without heat. Nevertheless, on February 9, Deputy Minister for Communities and Territories Development, Alona Shkrum, announced the complete restoration of heating in the Troieshchyna area. Panteleev confirmed that
"heat is currently being supplied to the buildings", but stressed that
"there are buildings with various problems related to damage to their internal systems".
Therefore, while the heating situation has significantly improved, some residents still face difficulties due to technical faults in specific buildings. Repair crews continue their work, and local authorities are focused on resolving the remaining issues. These disruptions are part of the wider challenge to maintain critical infrastructure during the ongoing conflict.
The restoration of heat in Kyiv is a crucial step in improving living conditions for residents affected by the attacks. The protracted repair work, however, underscores the complex situation facing municipal services. Authorities continue to work on eliminating problems to ensure the comfort and safety of residents in the near term.
