A woman died in Kyiv after giving birth: the doctor has been charged.

According to police data, a 50-year-old obstetrician-gynecologist, who was on duty, did not provide the necessary postpartum care for the woman and did not take the required medical measures in time. Due to this inaction, the patient's condition sharply deteriorated. Unfortunately, despite resuscitation efforts, the woman could not be saved.

The woman died due to internal organ damage and massive bleeding that occurred as a result of rapid childbirth.

“However, such consequences could have been avoided if the doctor had organized proper medical care for the woman in labor,” the message says.

Recently, a similar case occurred in an Odessa maternity hospital - a newborn died. An investigation into this incident is ongoing, medical documentation is being examined, and explanations from medical staff are being taken.

“All comments regarding what caused this situation will be provided after the investigation is completed and the specialists' conclusions are obtained,” said Elena Velmozhko, spokesperson for the city health department.

This tragic case raises important questions about the quality of medical services provided in maternity hospitals. Checking the situation and taking necessary measures can help avoid similar tragedies in the future and ensure proper care for women in labor.
