Tragic accident in Thailand
According to TSN.ua: On Wednesday morning in Thailand, a tragic accident occurred: a train derailed after a construction crane fell on three of its carriages. As a result of this incident, at least 19 people have died, and about 80 have been injured. The accident took place in the Sikhiu district of Nakhon Ratchasima province while the train was traveling from the capital Bangkok to Ubon Ratchathani province. There were 195 passengers on board the train.
Circumstances of the tragedy
The crane that caused the tragedy was working on a high-speed railway project. It fell on three train carriages, causing two of the three carriages that the crane crashed into to also be damaged. Colonel of Police Tatchapon Chinnawong reported that nineteen bodies have been found, but some remain inside the carriages, which are currently impossible to extract due to the danger associated with the crane's movement. The rescue team was forced to retreat, fearing for their safety.
Transport Minister Phhiphat Ratchakitprakan ordered a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the tragedy. This incident has sparked widespread public reaction and underscored the importance of safety on the railway.
