Trump and Ukraine: American analysts analyze the policy of the new president

Experts from the USA are examining what policy newly elected President Donald Trump may pursue regarding Ukraine, as he currently lacks a clear plan. A large number of analysts have different opinions on this matter.

Trump 'has surrounded himself with skeptics regarding Ukraine,' notes Noah Rothman from National Review.

Some political experts believe that Trump is focused on delivering a clear message about the US commitment to supporting Ukraine.

According to the Financial Times, Trump plans to continue military supplies to Ukraine after his inauguration.

'Any step could have a backlash. Complete cessation of aid to Ukraine is not in the interests of the USA,' writes Samuel Charap.

Trump also demands that EU leaders increase defense spending to 5%.

Analysts urge that any plan to end the war should include four elements: a ceasefire agreement, security guarantees for Ukraine, accountability for Russian aggression, and stabilization of Russian-Western relations.

Foreign Affairs reminds us that negotiations between allies regarding the end of the war are necessary.
