Trump announced a 'small progress' in stopping the war in Ukraine.
President-elect Donald Trump stated that resolving the conflict in Ukraine is achieving 'small progress'. He emphasized the seriousness of the situation and the large number of casualties associated with it. These words were expressed during a press conference held at Mar-a-Lago, his residence.
'We are trying to stop the war, this terrible war that is taking place in Ukraine with Russia. We have taken a small step forward. It is difficult. It is unpleasant. People are dying by the thousands, which no one has ever seen', Trump noted.
The president emphasized that the number of fallen servicemen is 'astronomical', and the real situation is 'much worse' than reported by the parties to the conflict. He also stressed that the administration would do everything possible to end the war in Ukraine.
Michael Waltz, nominee for national security advisor, also confirmed that Trump's team is coordinating its actions with the current US administration regarding the resolution of the conflict and negotiations for a ceasefire in Ukraine.
During Trump's meeting with the NATO Secretary-General, the involvement of European Union participants in resolving the conflict was discussed. Waltz also noted that Trump's strategy involves support for Ukraine but not unconditional support.
