Trump offered Russia and China all the oil they need: what does it mean

According to ТСН: US President Donald Trump is ready to sell China and Russia 'all the oil they need' amid increased US control over Venezuela's oil resources.

'We are open for business. China can buy as much oil as it wants - there or in the United States. Russia can get all the oil it needs from us,' Trump said.

Trump explained his administration's actions in controlling the Venezuelan oil industry by saying that if this was not done, China or Russia would gain influence.

'If we didn't do this, it would be China and Russia there,' he noted.

Such statements from Trump significantly differ from his previous rhetoric. Earlier, he repeatedly criticized European allies for their energy cooperation with Russia during the war in Ukraine, claiming that the war could have ended sooner if NATO countries had stopped buying Russian oil.

Moreover, there is information that after the US seized the Venezuelan president, Russian diplomacy is forced to adapt, trying to revise its ally's strategy under new conditions.

Meanwhile, the US Senate has passed a resolution prohibiting Trump from using military force against Venezuela without the consent of Congress.

These events indicate a shift in the US's strategic approaches to energy policy in Latin America. At the same time, Russia's reaction may influence the further situation in the region, as changes in the oil market will affect relations between great powers in the context of the global energy crisis.
