Trump lifts pause on aid to Ukraine after signing agreement, - Kyiv Post.
U.S. President Donald Trump approved the sale of arms to Kyiv for cash and partially lifted the delay of military aid to Ukraine. This was reported by Kyiv Post.
The Trump administration informed Congress of its intention to allow the export of defense products to Ukraine through the Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) system for an amount of at least 50 million dollars and beyond. This sale includes the export of defense products, technical documentation, and defense services.
According to sources from the publication, this license for the sale of arms under the Arms Export Control Act will allow the U.S. President to control the import and export of defense products and services.
The U.S. has already permitted the export of defense products and services to Ukraine amounting to over 1.6 billion dollars through the Direct Commercial Sales system.
Security analysts have expressed the opinion that the continuation of U.S. military aid to Ukraine will enhance the U.S. influence both on Ukraine and on Russia. The Trump administration has stated its desire for a sustainable ceasefire in Ukraine, and in order to achieve this, leverage is needed on both sides of the conflict.
Earlier, Trump also expressed expectations from Russian President Vladimir Putin and discussed agreements with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
