Three Natural Reserves to Visit with the Whole Family.
It is currently relevant to travel around Ukraine to see all its beauty and grandeur. If you are used to vacationing at the sea or in the mountains, you should also visit natural reserves. During the war, there is an opportunity to see only three.
One of the most beautiful Ukrainian reserves is Gorgany. It is located in the high-mountain part of the Dovbushan massif, among the Carpathian peaks. It is famous for its beech virgin forests and captivates with stunning landscapes and hiking trails that lead to the Dovbushanka and Vedmezhik rocks. Gorgany is included in the UNESCO World Heritage list and preserves pristine nature as it was hundreds of years ago. Reaching Gorgany is not easy due to many steep slopes and sharp-crested ridges, so it is worth preparing before the trip. However, there are many guides now who will take you along the local paths and show you all the beauty of the reserve. The territory of Gorgany has many swift rivers, and the local forests are a highlight.
Roztochya is another mountainous reserve in western Ukraine. It impresses tourists with a large number of relief forms - sharp rocks, rivers, ponds, meadows. On the territory of the reserve, one can meet foxes, ermines, deer, short-toed eagles, goldcrests, and black storks. A particularly popular location there is Mount Hory Hostryi, which offers incredible landscapes. Numerous streams and rivers originate from Roztocze, flowing into the Bug, Dniester, and Black Sea. The reserve is located in three regions - the Carpathians, Podillya, and Polissya.
If you plan to rest in Ternopil region, be sure to visit the Medobory reserve area. This picturesque place offers views of the remains of an ancient barrier reef, which is about 25 million years old. Here, in the X-XIII centuries, was a center of paganism, as evidenced by archaeological findings. In addition, there are many natural objects in the reserve, such as lakes that do not freeze even in winter. People also come to Medobory for health purposes, as it is home to the "Glycerin Water" spring with healing properties.
The holiday season has started at the Shatsk Lakes, located in Volyn. This place gathers vacationers from all over Ukraine. There are several popular lakes near the village of Shatsk. How to get there, where to stay, and how much such a vacation will cost - we will tell further.
For the second year in a row, the sea is not accessible to Ukrainians due to military actions and the ecological disaster after the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP by Russian troops. Therefore, many Ukrainians are looking for other options for relaxation and spending weekends.
