Heavy rains caused flooding of the streets in Yalta. Local residents are sharing videos of the aftermath of the bad weather.

One of the videos shows large streams of water on the road, which were noticed by the residents of Yalta.

Earlier it was reported that the city experienced heavy rain, thunderstorm, and downpour. Local residents complained about difficulties in movement due to the streams on the streets, which impeded their way home.

In several regions of Ukraine today, September 16, a storm warning was announced. In Odessa on September 15, almost half of the monthly norm of rainfall fell – 19 mm.

A large-scale flood also occurred in Poland. Due to the bad weather, schooling was suspended in over 350 kindergartens and schools in four voivodeships. The flood is the strongest in the last 27 years, and the incident led to the death of two people.

Heavy rains also caused floods in Austria, the Czech Republic, and Romania. In the Czech Republic, the flood was the result of prolonged rains that started on September 12 in the southern part of the country.

Due to the bad weather, approximately 260 thousand houses were left without power, and about 1.9 thousand residents were evacuated by emergency services. Passenger rail traffic was almost completely stopped in the Moravian-Silesian region.

In addition, in the city of Dalnerechensk in Primorsky Krai, on the morning of August 6, a flood began after a destructive dam break. A temporary accommodation center for the affected was organized in one of the buildings of the local school.
