Bild reveals Russia's plan to discredit German chancellor candidate Merz.
Kremlin propaganda plans to discredit Friedrich Merz, the candidate for chancellor of Germany and leader of the opposition bloc CDU/CSU. This was reported by Bild.
Kremlin Strategy
The Kremlin's strategy was developed in the Administration of the President of Russia and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). It has several directions.
Directions of the Kremlin's Strategy:
- the label 'war chancellor' imposed on Merz;
- emphasis on the fact that Merz is a former top manager of the American investment giant BlackRock;
- convincing Germans that Merz's policies will lead to disastrous consequences.
'Ukraine allegedly owes international financial corporations for weapons and covering war expenses to such an extent that it will have to repay in natural resources, including rare earth metals and grain,' the publication writes.
The Kremlin actively uses an army of trolls and its agents on social media to spread this narrative.
The 'Alternative for Germany' party and the BSW movement, led by Sahra Wagenknecht, have also joined this campaign in Germany.
Recall that Merz expressed his opinion in Kyiv on when Putin will engage in negotiations with Ukraine.
