Kharkiv Deploys Major Resources to Combat Widespread Ice.
Kharkiv's Battle Against the Ice Storm
According to Novyny.live: Municipal services in Kharkiv are engaged in a major effort to clear hazardous ice and ensure public safety across the city. The operation involves multiple utility companies, including the municipal enterprises 'Shliakhrembud' and 'Kharkivzelenbud'.
To make streets safe, the city has mobilized a significant workforce:
- 145 workers from the 'Blahoustrii' branch of 'Shliakhrembud';
- 14 employees from 'Kharkivzelenbud'.
Four specialized vehicles are also being used to break up and remove the ice.
Priority Areas for Treatment
Crews are focusing their efforts on high-traffic and critical areas, such as:
- Residential courtyards;
- Intersections;
- Pedestrian crossings;
- Public transport stops;
- Steep inclines and declines;
- Approaches to hospitals and social service facilities;
- Areas near administrative buildings, markets, and other public gathering spots.
Utility crews are working continuously to prevent injuries and maintain safe conditions for all residents.
Such severe winter weather can severely disrupt daily life, making the rapid response from city services essential. The scale of this mobilization, involving specialized equipment and a large number of personnel, highlights the seriousness of the situation and the city's readiness to handle weather emergencies. Residents are strongly advised to exercise extra caution while moving around the city during this period.
