In Kyiv, a drug dealer was detained: he hid drugs on the New Year's tree.
According to ТСН: A 40-year-old Israeli citizen was detained in Kyiv for organizing a network for the sale of narcotic substances and psychotropic drugs. Law enforcement discovered that the suspect stored the 'goods' in a New Year's tree, hanging bags with prohibited substances on it.
This became known from the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
'He did not hide the prohibited substances at home - the man decorated his Christmas tree with bags of drugs,' the Shevchenko District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv reported.
Investigators established that the detainee operated through a closed Telegram channel, where he searched for clients, and organized deliveries via postal shipments. He was caught 'in the act' at the post office while receiving another batch of goods ready for sale.
'During the arrest and urgent search at the man's home, about 200 grams of powdery substance 4-MMC, amphetamine, LSD, MDMA, and about 1 kilogram of cannabis were seized,' the agency noted.
At the moment, the foreigner has already been notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court chose a preventive measure of detention. For his activities, the man faces up to 12 years in prison with property confiscation.
It should be noted that recently a 44-year-old Kyiv resident was sentenced to 10 years in prison for organizing the supply of cocaine from Central America to Ukraine. The drug was transported from Honduras to Panama, and then as international parcels disguised as household items.
This case once again underscores the serious threat posed by drug networks in Ukraine. The detention of the Israeli citizen and the exposure of his scheme emphasizes the importance of joint efforts by law enforcement agencies against drug trafficking. Only coordinated actions can help eliminate such criminal schemes and ensure public safety.
