The Kremlin is studying a new peace plan from the USA: what is known about the proposals.
According to ТСН: In Moscow, a peace plan handed over by Putin's special envoy Kirill Dmitriev is being reviewed. Further actions depend on the President of Russia.
This was reported by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"Moscow will continue communication with Americans depending on Putin's decisions based on the analysis of the materials provided by Dmitriev," he said.
Peskov noted that there are no plans for a conversation between the two leaders in the near future.
Misunderstandings Regarding the Peace Plan
It was previously reported that the new Ukrainian-American peace plan presented by President Volodymyr Zelensky significantly differs from the initial document. The latter effectively demanded Ukraine to cede territories and abandon NATO membership. The new proposal is a more balanced compromise and includes security guarantees for Kyiv. However, the Kremlin is unlikely to accept it, as Moscow, buoyed by battlefield results, will not be able to present the plan as a victory for the public.
Negotiations and Their Impact
Experts note that Moscow is interested in conducting negotiations to maintain relations with Washington and avoid accusations of prolonging the conflict. Russia also seeks to delay the imposition of sanctions, as American restrictions against two major Russian oil companies, Rosneft and Lukoil, have forced the country to sell oil at significantly lower prices.
Discussion of peace terms leads to deepening discrepancies between Ukraine and its Western allies. Diplomatic negotiations over peace conditions will continue in parallel with the war.
American expert Jan Brzezinski believes that Putin can be forced to sit at the negotiating table only by two things - the threat of losing territories or an agreement that allows achieving control over Ukraine.
Thus, the situation surrounding the peace plan remains tense, as discrepancies between the parties may lead to new stages of conflict. It is important that the global community continues to monitor developments, as stability in the region and the possibility of restoring peace depend on it.
