Thousands of bottles of Ukrainian wine stolen in London: what varieties were expected in restaurants.
The Theft of Ukrainian Wine in London
According to inkorr.com: In London, a serious theft occurred: unknown individuals stole around three thousand bottles of Ukrainian wine Chateau Chizay from a truck. This batch had already passed customs clearance and was on its way to restaurants and wine shops in Britain. The incident took place at a parking lot after the cargo was cleared: thieves cut the tarpaulin of the truck and took away most of the boxes with wine. Only one pallet remained in the back of the truck.
Among the stolen wines are sparkling Carpathian Sekt, pink Pinot Noir, and dessert Late Harvest, which has repeatedly won international awards. These varieties had arrived at prestigious British restaurants. Representatives of Chateau Chizay noted that such a loss will negatively affect the company's financial results, but they are actively working to resolve the situation and are placing reorders. They also emphasized that truck thefts in Britain are not uncommon, so the chances of finding the criminals are quite low.
The 'Chateau Chizay' company has been producing wine from its own grapes in Transcarpathia since 1995, growing grapes on 272 hectares in the best Transcarpathian terroirs.
This theft case highlights the problems facing importers in Britain. It is known that thefts of both trucks and their products are not new to the industry, so companies must ensure the safety of their cargo and seek effective solutions to prevent such incidents in the future.
