In Lviv, the court made a decision in the scandalous case of Professor Los.

The court in Lviv denied the reinstatement of Professor Yosyp Los of the Ivan Franko Lviv National University. He was dismissed after allegations of harassment towards female students, which caused significant public resonance.

Case Details

The court hearing started late, and Los himself did not appear. His interests were represented by a lawyer.

Activists gathered outside the courthouse with placards saying 'Get Rid of Los' – they demanded that he not be allowed to return to teaching.

The professor sought not only reinstatement as a lecturer at the Faculty of Journalism but also to claim salary for the period of forced unpaid leave. However, the court sided with the university and denied the claim.

It should be noted that on June 3, another court hearing in the case of Professor Yosyp Los took place in Lviv.

Before this, the scandal surrounding instances of harassment at the Faculty of Journalism of the Ivan Franko Lviv National University gained new momentum. One of the students, Sofia Romanyv, who openly accused Professor Yosyp Los of inappropriate behavior, reported her expulsion from the educational institution.
