Searches at the mayor of Lutsk and the head of the regional council
According to ТСН: Today, NABU is conducting searches at the mayor of Lutsk Ihor Polishchuk and the head of the Volyn regional council Hryhoriy Nedopad.
According to law enforcement, there is currently no official information about the reasons for the searches and the procedural status of the mayor.
Ihor Polishchuk stated that no items or documents had been seized from him and noted that at this moment he has no procedural status. This is reported by 'Volyn News'.
'NABU employees behaved correctly and professionally, there are no complaints about their work,' emphasized Ihor Polishchuk.
Moreover, earlier there was information about NABU searches in the central office of the State Tax Service and in several regional departments. It is known that these searches may be related to a case of large-scale corruption in the energy sector (the 'Midas' case), but no official comments from the bureau have been received yet.
The situation surrounding the searches in Lutsk underscores the relevance of the fight against corruption in Ukraine. The conduct of such operations indicates the active work of law enforcement agencies in investigating corruption cases that may have serious consequences for officials at all levels. We await further clarifications from NABU regarding the results of these actions.
