Ukrainian military centers have stopped the mobilization of people over 50 years old

Currently, there are less than a dozen mobilized individuals aged 50+ left in the training centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by a source in the Main Directorate of Doctrines and Training of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The reason for this situation is that the command of the Ground Forces has instructed to stop the forced mobilization of men who have reached the age of 50, according to an internal order since the end of September. According to the source, "older people cannot perform combat tasks on the line of contact due to their physical characteristics and chronic illnesses, and combat brigades do not want to take such people." The training centers prepare personnel specifically for combat brigades.

However, the TCC can still call men aged 50-59 who have scarce military accounting specialties needed in the Armed Forces, such as welders, heavy equipment repair technicians, communications specialists, etc.

Let us recall that in Ukraine, the mobilization age remains from 18 to 60 years.

At the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, law No. 11379-d was adopted regarding military service during mobilization for individuals who have not reached the age of 25. However, Roman Kostenko, the secretary of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, expressed the opinion that the mobilization age in Ukraine should start from 20 years old.
