Transition to winter time in October 2025: what is known about the change.
According to inkorr.com: On the night of Saturday to Sunday, October 26, 2025, Ukraine will again transition to winter time. At four in the morning, the clock hands will need to be set back an hour — after 3:59 it will be 3:00 again. This will give Ukrainians an extra hour of sleep, but the days will become shorter and the evenings longer.
When and why do we change the clocks
The transition to winter time in Ukraine, as in many European countries, occurs every year on the last Sunday in October. The main goal of this process is to use daylight more efficiently during the cold season.
Experts advise not to overload the body in the first days after changing the clocks, to maintain a stable rest schedule, drink more water, and try to go to bed at the same time. Typically, adaptation lasts several days.
Will the clock change be canceled in Ukraine
The issue of canceling seasonal time changes has been discussed multiple times in the Verkhovna Rada. In 2024, deputies adopted , which anticipates abandoning the clock change in favor of permanent winter time.
The authors of the document emphasized that the constant change of time negatively affects people's health — in particular, the cardiovascular system. It also causes confusion in transport schedules, international calculations, and business contacts.
However, despite these issues, the current regulations remain unchanged: the adopted law.
By changing the time, Ukraine remains at the intersection of tradition and modern requirements. The discussion of the possible cancellation of the clock change continues to be relevant, as it is important for many citizens to have clarity regarding their time. Perhaps, over time, the issue will be resolved definitively.
