Mass inspections of waste have begun in Germany: fines up to 84 euros.
Mass inspections of organic waste containers in Germany
According to inkorr.com: Since September 15, large-scale inspections of organic waste containers have started in Germany. More than a hundred companies engaged in waste collection are responsible for monitoring the sorting of organic waste. This was reported by the publication 'Glavkom', citing Bild.
New environmental standards limit the amount of foreign contaminants in organic waste: now no more than three percent is allowed, of which plastic can account for a maximum of one percent.
The reason was a new environmental standard that came into force in spring: now organic waste must contain no more than three percent of foreign contaminants and a maximum of one percent of plastic.
Workers responsible for waste collection will detect violations during container inspections. In several districts, garbage trucks are equipped with special sensors to identify improperly sorted waste.
Sanctions for violations of sorting rules may vary from refusal to collect waste to fines exceeding 84 euros for special collection in Baden-Württemberg. In some cities, for repeated violations, administrative proceedings may even be initiated.
Thus, Germany has launched a systematic control of organic waste containers, which should improve efficiency in waste sorting and contribute to environmental protection.
This step has become an important stage in the fight against problems in waste disposal. The implementation of new standards and monitoring their adherence can significantly improve the waste situation in the country and reduce the negative impact on the environment.
