Ambassador of Ukraine sharply responded to the ultra-right German politician: what it was about.
Ultra-right politician Tino Chrupalla expressed his opinion regarding Ukraine, which he believes could concede parts of its territories to Russia. In response to this statement, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany, Oleksii Makeyev, reacted sharply.
Reaction of Oleksii Makeyev to the question of territorial concessions
Chrupalla believes that conceding part of Ukraine's territories would be a better scenario than war. In response, Makeyev called his remarks 'sofa diplomacy of right-wing extremists, lovers of Russia, and xenophobes' and urged to give away only what belongs.
Oleksii Makeyev proposed an alternative approach to resolving the conflict — to ask voters if they are ready to make concessions for peace, ceding territories to Russia. He emphasized the importance of giving away only what rightfully belongs.
The Chancellor of Germany, Friedrich Merz, also expressed his opinion on the situation in Ukraine and urged President Volodymyr Zelensky to participate in a meeting between Trump and Putin, particularly to discuss ways to end the war. Earlier, Zelensky himself consulted with Merz on this issue.
The ultra-right politician proposed territorial concessions, while the Ambassador of Ukraine emphasized the importance of giving away only what belongs and called to ask voters regarding this matter. Earlier, the Chancellor of Germany had also appealed to the Ukrainian government regarding the possibility of ending the conflict with Russia.
