System failure in passport registration in Poland
On the morning of September 12, a significant failure occurred in the passport registration system in Poland, leading to a temporary halt in the acceptance of applications and the issuance of documents. This caused concern not only among applicants but also among specialists from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration. This information was reported by RMF FM.“We ask for your patience and are monitoring the announcements. We will provide current information when the system returns to proper functioning,” stated the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Office in Wrocław.Spokeswoman of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Administration Karolina Halecka explained that the central IT center recorded disruptions in the system's operation. The reasons for these disruptions remain unknown at this time. By lunchtime, the situation was stabilized, and the system resumed normal operation; however, the causes of the failure are still unclear.
It is worth noting that the Polish government believes that the attack by Russian drones on Poland was a planned provocation, said Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digitalization Krzysztof Gawkowski.Krzysztof Gawkowski emphasized that the government has evidence indicating that this attack is part of Russia's disinformation campaign. He noted that any deviation from this truth only strengthens the Russian narrative. The situation looks like elements of a thriller, and in the process of resolving it, Poland is gaining more information about its security and confidence.Currently, it is important for the Polish authorities to continue investigating the reasons for the passport registration failure and to ensure the stable operation of the system, especially in the face of external threats. The situation with drones also demands close attention, as events in the region can impact the security of all of Europe.
