Polish prosecutors have accused a citizen of Ukraine of involvement in sending a package with explosives. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is monitoring this situation.

It is noted that a package with explosives was found at a courier company warehouse in the city of Łódź. Currently, details regarding a possible motive are not specified, but the woman has been detained and is in custody.

The material states that in July last year, she participated in transporting a package, which included explosives and electric detonators. It was supposed to be delivered by a courier company.

After a chemical examination, prosecutors stated that this construction represented a so-called cumulative charge bomb. The package and the explosives in it could 'cause significant damage to critical infrastructure.'

It is also known that the woman allegedly committed the crime together with another Ukrainian and two Russians. According to the prosecutors, two individuals have been detained in this case.

The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported that the Ukrainian woman was detained on October 22, 2024, in Krakow. She has been notified of suspicion of committing an offense under the Criminal Code of the Republic of Poland.

'The suspect is in custody. The consular institution is actively cooperating with Ukrainian and Polish lawyers of the suspect to ensure proper protection of her interests in court. In addition, consuls regularly visit the Ukrainian citizen in the penitentiary institution; she has not expressed any complaints regarding the conditions of detention or her health status,' the statement said.

It is noted that the district court of Łódź Voivodeship set the next court hearing for August 21. A consular official from the Ukrainian consulate will be present at it. The ministry also reported that the General Consulate of Ukraine in Krakow maintains contact with the relatives of the detained and keeps the case under special control.
