The Rada predicted when negotiations between Zelensky and Trump could begin.
The Ukrainian delegation may hold the first negotiations with the team of the new US President Donald Trump in early February during the 'Ukrainian Week' in Washington. This was announced by the head of the 'Servant of the People' faction, Davyd Arahamia, during a telethon.
'In early February, there will be a 'Ukrainian Week' in Washington. I think that the main processes, the main negotiations with Trump's new team will actually take place there, so we are waiting,' Arahamia noted.
The head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Policy, Oleksandr Merezhko, emphasized that Trump's first meeting should take place with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, not with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin. He also believes that a phone conversation between Zelensky and Trump may take place soon, although a personal meeting will be delayed due to administrative issues in the White House.
The 'Ukrainian Week' will take place in Washington from February 3 to 8, 2025. The program includes meetings, round tables, and forums involving American senators, congressmen, and Ukrainian politicians.
On January 20, Trump instructed to organize a call with Putin to arrange a meeting, although he had previously stated that his administration would focus on Russia's war against Ukraine.
