Russia Has Established a Secret Unit Tasked with Eliminating Kremlin Opponents Abroad.
The Formation of 'Center 795'
According to TSN.ua: Russian intelligence agencies have created a covert unit known as 'Center 795,' designed to assassinate or kidnap Kremlin adversaries overseas. This military division, designated as unit 75127, was established by a directive from the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces following the onset of the full-scale war against Ukraine. The unit operates under the authority of Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the Russian General Staff, or his deputy.
To staff 'Center 795,' 500 officers were selected from Russia's FSB, GRU, and Belarus's KGB. Denis Fisenko was appointed as the unit's direct commander. The base for 'Center 795' is located within the Patriot Park complex in Kubinka, just outside Moscow. Financial backing for the unit is provided by Andrei Bokarev and Sergei Chemezov.
Structure and Operations
The organizational framework of 'Center 795' consists of three directorates: intelligence, assault, and combat support. Within the intelligence directorate, there are 19 departments, including a sniper division. However, a recent incident saw Denis Alimov, an officer from the center, detained at Bogotá's airport in Colombia at the request of the United States. Alimov was implicated in a conspiracy to murder two European figures between October 2024 and March 2025. Prior to 2022, he served in the FSB's special operations center and went by the call sign 'Ariyets.'
The emergence of 'Center 795' signals an escalation in Russian intelligence operations beyond its borders, with a clear focus on neutralizing opponents.
The creation of 'Center 795' highlights the growing threat to Kremlin critics abroad, potentially carrying serious implications for global security. The arrest of Denis Alimov in Colombia may point to a global network that Russian intelligence agencies are attempting to deploy to achieve their objectives. This could lead to heightened international pressure on Russia and additional sanctions, further isolating the country on the world stage.
