According to Korrespondent.net: The documentary film by Myroslav Chernov '2000 Meters to Andriivka' and the animated short by Anastasiia Faliieieva 'I Died in Irpin' have been nominated in 12 categories for the Oscar award. This information was published on the film award's website.

Nominations of the films

The animated film 'I Died in Irpin' made it to the shortlist in the category 'Animated Short Film'. The duration of the work is 11 minutes, combining animation created from charcoal drawings with personal archives of Faliieieva. The film depicts the emotions of the first days of the full-scale invasion through the personal story of the director.

The film '2000 Meters to Andriivka' also made it to the shortlist in the nomination 'Documentary Feature Film'. Ukraine submitted it in the category 'International Feature Film', but it did not make the shortlist.

Additionally, in the category 'Short Narrative Film' is the work of director Franz Boehm 'Stone, Paper, Scissors', which is dedicated to the full-scale invasion of Ukraine and features Ukrainian actors.

Further stages of the award

The final list of nominees will be announced on January 22, 2026, and the award ceremony will take place on March 15, 2026.

It is worth recalling that last year, the film '20 Days in Mariupol' by Myroslav Chernov won the Oscar for Best Full-Length Documentary Film.

It should also be noted that the film '2000 Meters to Andriivka' not only competes for recognition within the Oscar award but also won the F:ACT AWARD at the CPH:DOX documentary film festival in Denmark. These achievements highlight the importance of Ukrainian cinema on the international stage, especially in times of global challenges and conflicts.
