The US said what threatens North Korean military in Ukraine.

American military officials stated that if North Korean soldiers participate in the war against Ukraine, they will become legitimate targets for the Defense Forces.

This information was conveyed by the Coordinator for Strategic Communications of the National Security Council at the White House, John Kirby, during a briefing on October 23.

According to the US, since early October, North Korea has transferred about 3000 of its soldiers to the east of Russia, who ended up at various military training grounds. This occurred via shipments by ships from the port of Wonsan to Vladivostok.

Kirby emphasized that it is currently unknown whether these soldiers will participate in the war alongside Russian troops, but the likelihood of such a scenario concerns the US. After training, they might be dispatched to the west of Russia to participate in battles against Ukrainian military forces.

"If they indeed go to fight against Ukraine, then they will be legitimate targets for our defense forces. Ukrainian military will defend themselves against North Korean soldiers just as they defend against Russians. The likelihood of injured or killed soldiers from North Korea fighting against Ukraine is real," Kirby stressed.

He also remarked that if North Korean soldiers are involved in combat, it indicates "Russian desperation in the war against Ukraine" and active military cooperation between Russia and North Korea.

Kirby believes that Russia is suffering significant losses on the battlefield, yet President Putin continues the war. If Russia is forced to engage North Korea in the war, it will be a sign of the Kremlin's weakness, not its strength.

A few days ago, the White House confirmed the deployment of 3000 troops from North Korea to Russia.
