Ukrainian Combat Veterans to Receive Pension Supplement in 2026: Amount in Hryvnia.
Pension Supplement for Combat Veterans in 2026
According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian combat veterans will receive a pension supplement starting in 2026. This payment is mandated by current legislation, specifically Law 3551-XII 'On the Status of War Veterans and Guarantees of Their Social Protection'. The supplement will be calculated as 25% of the official subsistence minimum for disabled individuals. As of January 1, 2026, this subsistence minimum is set at 2,595 hryvnias, meaning the veteran's supplement will be 647 hryvnias.
For context, in 2025 the subsistence minimum was 2,361 hryvnias, resulting in a supplement of 590 hryvnias. This increase reflects annual adjustments to the baseline figure. Additionally, combat veterans are entitled to a separate targeted cash assistance payment of 40 hryvnias.
Retirement Eligibility for Combat Veterans
Combat veterans also benefit from preferential retirement age requirements. Men can retire at age 55 with a minimum of 25 years of service, while women can retire at 50 with at least 20 years of service. These provisions offer earlier retirement options to support this specific group of citizens.
These changes to pension provisions for combat veterans underscore the state's commitment to the social protection of those who served in military actions.
The introduction of this supplement and the preferential retirement terms aim to improve the financial well-being of veterans. This represents a significant step in supporting individuals who have dedicated their efforts and health to the nation's defense, contributing to greater social stability and welfare.
