In Kyiv, the chief state inspector of the Central Interregional Office of the State Tax Service was detained while receiving a bribe of $20,000.

The official demanded money from the director of a private construction company in Chernihiv for a 'positive' tax audit. If he received the money, the official promised the entrepreneur to 'cancel' the tax obligations he was supposed to pay to the state budget.

SBU employees documented the illegal gain obtained by the tax officer and detained him 'red-handed' while receiving one of the tranches of $13,000.

Ministry of Defense launches digital rating of combat effectiveness of commanders

The Ministry of Defense is launching a digital rating of the combat effectiveness of commanders. They will report on enemy hits in the 'Army+' application.

The government supported a resolution that will allow commanders to submit reports in 'Army+'. It can be sent in a few minutes. The Ministry of Defense plans to create a single dashboard for enemy destruction. It will help analyze the effectiveness of units and the military as a whole.

In Kazakhstan, on the Astana – Petropavlovsk highway in the Akmolinsk region, 95 vehicles collided due to a snowstorm on Friday, January 3.

In the national road company KazAvtoZhol, it was stated that the republican highway Astana – Petropavlovsk was closed due to worsening weather conditions.

According to preliminary data, due to drivers' non-compliance with the speed limit and safe distance, a massive collision occurred at kilometer 153 of the highway near the village of Zhanatalap.

Strike on Chernihiv

In Chernihiv, during an air alert, a series of explosions were heard. The occupiers attacked the city with ballistic missiles from the Kursk region. Initially, three 'Iskander-M' ballistic missiles were used.

The head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Vyacheslav Chaus, reported that Russian troops launched a triple missile strike on residential buildings on the outskirts of Chernihiv.

Two apartment buildings were completely destroyed, and about 10 houses were damaged. The Russians killed a 72-year-old civilian. Four people were injured.
