Attacks on Ukraine’s Energy Infrastructure
According to Novyny.live: On March 26, Russian forces targeted the Kherson thermal power station, resulting in the death of a 66-year-old female employee. The attack occurred around 2:00 PM, and reports indicate she sustained fatal injuries. Yaroslav Shanko, a company representative, confirmed the incident.
Additionally, on March 25, Russian strikes hit energy infrastructure in Chernihiv, cutting power to more than 150,000 customers. As of March 26, six regions of Ukraine remain without electricity:
- Dnipropetrovsk
- Odesa
- Sumy
- Chernihiv
- Zaporizhzhia
- Kharkiv
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that 'Russia is preparing strikes on water supply facilities.'
These attacks highlight the ongoing threat to the nation’s energy grid, raising alarm among both civilians and authorities. The widespread blackouts disrupt daily life and strain critical services across affected areas.
