The Armed Forces of Ukraine Ready for Ceasefire: What the Military Leadership Says.
According to ТСН: Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire along the front line. This issue is being discussed by the military leadership of the country, including the General Staff and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This was stated by MP Ruslan Gorbenko from the Servant of the People faction during the Evening.LIVE program.
Position of the Military Leadership
According to Gorbenko, the issue of a ceasefire is regularly raised at briefings with the President, where reports from the front line are heard.
“We are ready for a ceasefire along the line of action and combat actions. Period. And this is what the military, the General Staff, and the Commander-in-Chief insist on. The president very often holds briefings where he listens to the situation at the front. We know he was in Kupiansk, and that helped a lot in negotiations with European partners,” Gorbenko emphasized.
The MP noted that the recently provided credit of 90 billion euros for two years is an important support for Ukraine's survival. This funding will allow for a revision of the budget for 2026 and an increase in the financial support for military personnel. However, according to him, these financial resources cannot stop Russian military aggression.
“But the ability to stop the enemy, unfortunately, this loan does not provide. Because I spoke with guys from the drone forces and they say that to stop Moscow, we need to launch not simply parity long or medium strikes, but we need to launch these drones much more, and missiles, and for that, we need very large sums of money,” the MP explained.
Necessary Resources and Threat to Europe
Gorbenko also reported that to fully halt the Russian offensive, Ukraine needs at least 40 billion dollars exclusively for drones and missiles. Currently, there is no such support from partners.
The MP emphasized the specificity of the 90 billion euro loan: it is provided under collateral for future reparations from the Russian Federation, meaning Ukraine will not repay these funds until Russia pays for the damages. This, according to Gorbenko, should signal Europe about the need for additional investments in Ukrainian defense to ensure its own security.
“Europeans need to think about the fact that they now have the opportunity to additionally provide 40 billion for drone forces to stop the enemy and to ensure that there are no chances for the enemy to attack Europeans,” Ruslan Gorbenko concluded.
Diplomatic efforts to end the war in Ukraine have moved to the stage of discussing specific documents. Following the publication of the American draft peace plan, which consists of 28 points, Kyiv and Washington have entered a phase of intensive consultations.
Earlier, it was reported that American intelligence reports indicate that the dictator Putin has no intention of stopping in Donbass or in the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. His goal remains control over all of Ukraine and a broader plan to regain control of territories of the former USSR.
Thus, the situation at the front remains tense, and Ukraine's position on a ceasefire indicates a readiness to resolve the conflict peacefully. However, for this, more resources are needed to stop the aggression of the Russian Federation and guarantee security not only for Ukraine but for all of Europe.
