Ukraine Hopes for Trump's Participation in Zelensky's Meeting with Putin
Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha stated that Ukraine would like US leader Donald Trump to join the meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. He expressed this during a communication with journalists on Friday in Kyiv.
'The third position, which we are also working on - is a meeting at the leaders' level - between President of Ukraine Zelensky and Putin. We suppose that this meeting could be in an extended format. We would very much like President Trump to join it.'
Sybiha also emphasized that Ukraine always insists that all negotiations between leaders include the presence of Europe at the table. Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky criticized the delay in adopting the Russian memorandum.
The American participation in the meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and Russia could undoubtedly put additional pressure on the Russian side and provide more support for the Ukrainian restoration of territorial integrity.
