Ukraine moves clocks forward on March 29: Daylight saving time shift set for early morning.
Daylight saving time change in Ukraine
According to Novyny.live: At 3:00 AM on March 29, Ukraine will switch to daylight saving time. Clocks must be advanced by one hour, effectively making it 4:00 AM. This seasonal time change is a long-standing practice adopted by many nations to make better use of daylight hours.
It is worth noting that Ukraine's parliament (Verkhovna Rada) has passed a draft law proposing to abolish the clock-changing tradition. However, the legislation has not yet been signed by the president. As a result, despite ongoing discussions about ending the practice, Ukrainians will once again shift to daylight saving time in 2024.
Helping your body adjust
One common concern tied to the time change is how to ease the body's transition to the new schedule. Recommendations often focus on:
- sleep routines
- dietary habits
- physical activity
Many also question the purpose of the switch, which aims to reduce electricity consumption and maximize natural light usage.
The annual clock change remains a notable event in Ukraine, influencing daily life. With the final decision from parliament still uncertain, Ukrainians may again need to adjust their routines. The debate over potentially canceling the time shift continues, but no concrete changes have been implemented so far.
