Strike on the Ust-Luga Port

According to TSN.ua: On the night of March 31, the Ust-Luga port was hit by drones for the fourth time in seven days, triggering explosions in the Leningrad region and shutting down Pulkovo Airport. Governor Alexander Drozdenko confirmed the attack, reporting damage at the port, particularly in the settlement of Molodtsovo. Three residents required medical assistance, including two children.

Aftermath of the Attack

According to reports, 28 drones were intercepted over the region during the incident. This comes amid labor unrest among port workers that began on March 26–27. Earlier, on March 29, an oil terminal at the Ust-Luga port was also targeted, causing major infrastructure disruptions.

The explosions led to the cancellation or delay of over 60 flights at Pulkovo Airport. Ukrainian defense forces have struck the Ust-Luga port four times this week, noted Serhiy Sternenko in a statement.

“The Ukrainian defense forces struck the Ust-Luga port for the fourth time this week,”
he said. The situation has sparked concern among local residents and authorities, as repeated attacks on critical infrastructure could have serious implications for regional security and the economy.

These successive strikes on the Ust-Luga port highlight an escalation in the conflict and rising tensions in the area. Ports, being vital nodes for transportation and economic activity, are increasingly targeted during military operations, potentially disrupting the flow of goods and services. Monitoring the evolving situation and the government’s response to these threats is crucial for maintaining stability and safety in the region.
