Ukrainian farmers have already sown more than 6 million hectares of winter crops – Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
Ukrainian farmers have sown 5.98 million hectares of winter crops
As of today, Ukrainian farmers have already sown 5.98 million hectares of winter crops. The leaders in sowing winter crops for grain are farmers in Mykolaiv, Khmelnytskyi, and Zaporizhzhia regions. This is reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
Winter cereals are sown in all regions, with almost 4.9 million hectares (95%) already sown. Meanwhile, more than 1 million hectares of winter rapeseed have been sown.
In particular:
- winter wheat - 4.3 million hectares (96%);
- winter barley - 543.6 thousand hectares (85%);
- winter rye - 67.9 thousand hectares (96%);
- winter rapeseed - 1.07 million hectares (96%).
Farmers in Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil, and Chernihiv regions have completed sowing of winter cereals. Farmers in 12 regions have completed sowing of winter rapeseed.
Among the leaders in sowing winter crops for grain are farmers in Mykolaiv region - 503.1 thousand hectares (100.5%), Zaporizhzhia region - 100.8 thousand hectares (99.9%), and Khmelnytskyi region - 238.8 thousand hectares (99.5%).
62.2 million tons of new harvest have already been collected
By the way, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, 62.2 million tons of new harvest have already been collected from an area of 16.8 million hectares in the country. This is reported by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada.
It should be noted that, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy, a program of state compensations to farmers for demining agricultural lands has started in Ukraine.
Recall that earlier, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy predicted that this year's gross production of grains and oilseeds would be about 74 million tons, of which about 52.4 million tons are grains and 21.7 million tons are oilseeds.
It is noteworthy that in India, the best monsoon season since 2020 has recently ended, creating favorable conditions for an abundant harvest of rice, soybeans, and legumes. This is reported by Bloomberg.
