Ukrainian Forces Recapture 400 Square Kilometers in Zaporizhzhia Region.
Territory Reclaimed in Counteroffensive
According to UATV: In a significant advance, Ukrainian defenders have successfully conducted counterattacks against Russian forces on the Alexandrovka front in the Zaporizhzhia region, regaining control of 400 square kilometers of territory. These operations were made possible through special missions executed under an information blackout. As a result, Ukrainian forces now control more than two-thirds of the settlement of Stepnohirsk. This area has been a focal point of intense fighting in southern Ukraine for months.
According to Vladyslav Seleznev, 'open-source intelligence confirms the figure of 400 square kilometers liberated by the actions of the Ukrainian army.'
The success of these Ukrainian counterattacks is further evidenced by the liberation of nine settlements along the Alexandrovka axis.
Russian Military Casualties Mount
In a separate but related development, total Russian military casualties over the three winter months have exceeded 92,000 personnel. Seleznev noted: 'It is enough to open the Deep State map to see that the enemy's intentions were characteristic and symptomatic.' This situation highlights not only the achievements of Ukrainian defenders but also the severe losses sustained by the invading forces, which could impact the future course of combat operations. These casualty figures represent a staggering rate of attrition for the Russian military.
The recapture of significant territory marks a crucial phase in the conflict, demonstrating the effectiveness of Ukrainian strategy and the resilience of its army. Successful counterattacks like this could lay the groundwork for further advances, potentially altering the balance of power on the front lines. The loss of such a large number of personnel is also likely to degrade Russia's capacity to conduct offensive operations in the future.
